Job description

    The Diving Supervisor shall be the person in charge of the diving operations at the WORKSITE. The Diving Supervisor shall be a qualified and competent Air Diver who is fully conversant with offshore construction and inspection diving operations and who is responsible for the safety of his diving crew. It shall be his responsibility to ensure that all diving operations are carried out in accordance with the specified procedure and the CONTRACTOR's Manual of Safe Diving Practices. The person shall be appointed in writing by CONTRACTOR. The person must have adequate knowledge of the diving techniques and requirement to be used in the diving operations for which the person is so appointed.



    During an operation, the Diving Supervisor shall monitor progress, de-brief drivers returning to the surface, update instructions to working divers and keep the Operations Superintendent advised of the diving operations progress. In the absence of the Operations Superintendent or on WORKSITE where no Operations Superintendent has been appointed, the Diving Supervisor shall liaise closely with the COMPANY Site Representative to ensure timely completion of the WORKS ordered and to keep him advised of the progress of the WORKS. The Diving Supervisor shall maintain a diving operations logbook, and shall prepare and submit all required reports.



    The person shall ensure that the maintenance of all diving EQUIPMENT is carried out in accordance with the CONTRACTOR planned maintenance schedules by his diving team.


Job requirements

 
Minimum education level : Professional Certificate level
Study field : Engineering (Others) or equivalent
Required skill(s) : There is no value added skill required
Working experience : 5 years


    The person shall possess valid Air Diving Supervisor Certification of training from recognized diving school or a certificate of competence from a recognized authority (i.e. IMCA, ADCI and etc). In addition, the person should have had 5 years experiences as diving supervisor.



    All Diving Supervisors shall be qualified to carry out duties imposed upon them by the current Diving Regulations and the CONTRACTOR's rules of safe diving practices. The person will have attended courses in first aid, CPR and NDT.
