Our Client, a METHANOL CHEMICALS COMPANY (MCC). A SAUDI JOINT STOCK COMPANY. It is a major producer and international supplier of premium grade Formaldehyde/Derivative Products over the years. It operates a State-of-the-Art Petrochemical Complex based on world renowned process technologies.

Our Client is currently executing the following Backward Integration/Forward Expansion projects, which are in advanced stages of completion.

1. Methanol/Carbon Monoxide Plant.
2. Methylamines/Di Methyl Formamide Plant.
3. Pentaerythritol Plant.
4. Acetaldehyde Plant.
5. Formaldehyde Expansion Plant

Our Client operates its plants through most modern DCS Control System and the entire business operations are connected through SAP based ERP package. Our Client is ISO 9000 certified and is in the process of obtaining ISO 14000 certification.

Its administrative policies, HR development programmes and ERP Systems are developed and administered in a most efficient, competent and transparent manner to attract, retain, motivate and develop a highly qualified and competent global workforce.

Its current workforce is around 225 employees predominantly from Asian/Middle Eastern Region.

Our Client requires the following highly qualified and competent workforce for its various plants being built under the expansion plan. Candidates having work experience in above mentioned plants would be preferred.

 

Laboratory Supervisor

Job description

    In charge of laboratory daily activities having overall responsibility of supervising, controlling and ensuring the required accuracy of analytical work carried out therein for quality monitoring / control of products, raw materials and process streams.


    Responsibilities shall encompass:



    • Overall supervision of quality control laboratory directly. Supervises all Lab. Chemists, Lab. Technicians and Samplers.

    • Ensure that all analytical work is carried out in accordance with standard approved testing methods and that laboratory chemists/ technicians perform the same with precision and accuracy.

    • Organize proper periodic calibration of testing instruments in laboratory.

    • Ensure availability of chemicals, reagents and equipment spares, glassware required for smooth day to day running of the laboratory in co-ordination with materials department.

    • Ensure that all laboratory chemists/technicians are properly trained and to arrange for update of these skills as required.

    • Prepare all laboratory analysis schedules in consultation with section head of production and to ensure that analysis work is carried out in adherence to said schedule.

    • Co-ordinate closely with process group on a daily basis to ensure that all laboratory analytical requirements are fully met.

    • Take care of ISO requirements and audits.

    • Maintain equipment folder with information on calibrations, standards, certificate of analysis and service record for each equipment.



Job requirements

 
Minimum education level : Bachelors Degree level
Study field : Chemistry or equivalent
Required skill(s) : There is no value added skill required
Working experience : 7 years


    Post Graduate / Graduate in chemistry with minimum 7 years experience in quality control laboratory having thorough knowledge and practical experience on analytical instruments (Gas-Chromatography, UV Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, Ion Chromatography, etc.).


    Preference would be given to candidates having experience in Ammonia / Methanol, MA-DMF, Acetaldehyde / Penta Erythritol manufacturing units.
